FAQ's

What time do classes run?

Pre-Elite Musical Theatre: 3 hours on a Saturday or Sunday

Elite Musical Theatre: 3 hours on a Sunday

Choir: 2 hours on a Saturday

Singing Troupe: 2 hours on a Sunday

What's the difference between Pre-Elite and Elite Musical Theatre teams?

Pre-elite students are carefully selected through our audition process, ensuring an environment where performers share a passion, commitment and work-ethic. Performers training in our pre-elite programme are consistently reviewed by our expert faculty, with a view to transferring through to the elite teams when appropriate. Elite students receive the same training in a slightly more demanding and fast-paced environment, as you would find in the professional theatre world.

What's the difference between Choir and Singing Troupe?

Our choir members (aged 9-18) focus on musical theatre repertoire, working on complex harmonies, learning how to blend voices, act through song and recording studio techniques. Choir students will have the opportunity to work on original arrangements and medleys and benefit from regular performance opportunities throughout the year.

Our singing troupe members are generally aged 14-19 and are at the top of their game vocally. They are encouraged to be independent thinkers, innovators and creatives in their own right; giving a hand in the conception of original arrangements and performance ideas. You can watch our most recent singing troupe performances dazzle millions of viewers across online platforms; a testament to the unique artistry behind the work.

Do you also have a talent agency?

We do not run as a talent agency, but we have excellent connections with some of the top agents for young performers, and often arrange meetings for Spirit performers looking for representation.

What kind of opportunities do you provide beyond the training?

All musical theatre students get to be part of a professional filmed production video at least once a year, released to our YouTube channel, which is watched by millions. We also get regular live performance opportunities at incredible events and venues, a biannual Spirit production in a professional theatre, and so much more.

You can read more about our student's success - both individually and in their teams - here.

Who can audition for Spirit, and am I good enough to try out?

We welcome applications from performers aged 7-19.

Those in attendance at our auditions range from passionate newbies to seasoned young West End professionals. We have different teams on offer for various levels of experience, so we strongly encourage anybody to try out if they have the passion for performing.

At this stage we're looking for potential. If you have that, we will do the training to take you to pro level.
