"Auditioning was the best
decision I ever made."

 - Sophie Alibert, alum

Audition Entry

To train with Spirit YPC, students must be accepted through our audition process.

This is to ensure all students in the program share a passion, dedication, kindness and willingness to work hard.

We have different teams on offer for varying levels of ability, so whether you're a seasoned young West End professional, or a newcomer with love for the arts, it's worth trying out.

You can audition in-person or via online self-tape.

About the In-Person Auditions

Next In-Person Audition / Experience Day Dates

  • Sunday 17th November. 1.30 - 5.30pm. Central London. Audition for Weekly and/or Monthly Programs. Open to ages 7-19.

What to Expect

We work hard to make sure our auditions are fun, rewarding, supportive and educational. Teamwork is strongly encouraged and all applicants should walk away with a smile on their face, having learnt something from the experience.

The audition will last 4 hours. You'll take dance and acting classes from leading industry professionals. All applicants will also be taken through a singing call, and have a short informal interview with the panel.

The outcome of the audition is relayed to you via email, within 2 weeks of the audition.

Cost

There is a £25 in-person audition fee to cover 4 hours of classes with industry professionals, and consideration from Spirit's panel.

What to Prepare

All applicants will need to prepare 1 minute of a song of their choice. You are encouraged to bring sheet music, or be prepared to sing unaccompanied.

There is nothing else to prepare. Everything else is taught to you during the day.

What to Bring

As well as your song, please bring lots of water and a snack, and wear suitable clothing for dance.

"Thank you for bringing my son to a level of happiness I didn't think possible."

About Online-Self Tape Auditions

When to Submit

Book your audition here. You'll be emailed instructions on what to submit and how to submit it. You can submit your audition tape any time you like.

What to Film / Submit

If you are auditioning only for our weekly singing teams, you'll be asked to tape a short introduction (your name, age and why you're auditioning) as well as a performance of your chosen song.

If you're auditioning for our musical theatre teams (weekly and/or monthly), you'll be asked to tape an introduction, a song of your choice, a short monologue, and include a clip of you dancing. It can be a dance you've learned in a dance class, or you can use our dance tutorial video to help. This will be sent to you in your confirmation email after you've booked.

Cost

There is a £5 admin fee to submit, to cover the costs of our industry panel, who will be watching your tapes.

When You'll Hear Back

You will hear back with a response from us within 3 weeks of your self tape submission. Often it is sooner, but this time ensures that all of our panel have watched and carefully considered your tape.

"I live outside of London. Can I still audition?"
Absolutely! Most of our students travel in from outside of London and all over the country.
"If I'm successful, is financial support available?"
Yes. You can read
more here.
"Do I have enough experience to audition?"
We have classes for seasoned young pros, and classes for hard-working newcomers. It's always worth trying out.
