OUR STORY
Founded in 2012 by Sophie Boyce, Spirit quickly established itself as one of the UK's most exciting and innovative performing arts companies.

Young performers who were serious about their craft now had a place to both train and be showcased, with our pioneering video productions attracting the attention of millions of theatre fans every month.
Spirit provided a place for performers to be treated as young professionals, with opportunities provided as such. Spirit became a family of exceptional talent, all sharing that joy and passion for singing, acting and dance.

Over the years the Spirit performers turned the heads of theatre fans and professionals alike. Our performances have been publicly recognised by Lin-Manuel Miranda and the cast of Hamilton, the producers of Come From Away and more. Our performance teams have stood alongside Tony and Olivier-Award-Winners at the UK's most exciting theatre events, on world-renowned stages. They've been aired on prime-time television and on national radio. All of this is testament to our student's collective excellence, and the training they receive.

The subsequent creation of our Dance Company meant we could provide similar opportunities to young dancers. And with our half term and summer intensives, we could connect with performers from further afield; each year bringing talent together from all over the world! There is an undeniable thrill in the air when passionate youngsters from all walks of life join forces in this way.
And finally we created the Musical Theatre Associates program, to bring once-per-month training to performers who's location or schedules meant they wouldn't otherwise be able to access such a high-level training on a weekly basis.

We've done all of this while remaining exclusively in London, with the same team at the helm who pioneered the company in the beginning. All of this is to ensure the continued quality that made Spirit famous at the start.

Many of our graduated students are now embarking on adult careers in this industry. As well as becoming professional performers in theatre, film and television, we're so proud that students are also going on to become choreographers, talent agents, writers, directors and more. We are delighted that the innovation on display at Spirit has inspired the next generation of creators.

Every week we nurture our students to become fearless, independent and individual in their craft.

That's what makes the Spirit Company turn heads all over the world.
