AUDITION INFORMATION

When are the next auditions?

Our next audition opportunities are: Sunday 3rd October 2021 Saturday 8th January 2022 Saturday 23rd April 2022 Sunday 17th July 2022

Who can audition?

We welcome applications from performers aged 7-20 years old. Those in attendance at our auditions range from passionate newbies, to seasoned young West End professionals. We have different teams on offer for varying levels of experience, so strongly encourage anybody try out if they have the passion and work ethic to thrive! At this stage we're looking for potential, and we will do the training.

If successful, when do classes take place?

On Saturdays or Sundays. The day will be determined by the Spirit team and depend on where the performer best fits within the company. You can read more about our Musical Theatre teams here. You can find out about term dates, hours etc here.

I live outside of London. Can I still audition?

Absolutely! Most of the Spirit team travel into London, from all over the country. If you are able to make the journey each weekend and be committed to your training, we don't mind where you are from.

What to expect at Musical Theatre Auditions...

The audition is made up of three sections: singing, a dance call and a short interview with the panel. We work hard to make sure our auditions are fun, rewarding, supportive and educational, regardless of the outcome. Teamwork is strongly encouraged and all applicants should walk away having learnt something from the experience. We do not expect everyone to be a pro already! We're looking for passion and potential.

What to prepare...

All Musical Theatre/Singing Team applicants will need to prepare a song of their choice, to sing a cappella. You will only need to sing a verse and a chorus (or the equivalent, time-wise). You are welcome to start halfway through the song or just sing the end, if that's the section that best showcases what you can do.

What to bring...

Please bring lots of water (you will be working hard!) and a snack/packed lunch. Please have a song prepared for the audition and wear suitable shoes/clothing for dance. Any long hair should be tied back off the face.

Are parents required to stay?

Applicants will be chaperoned by Spirit staff for the full duration of the audition. Parents/Guardians can make use of the waiting room area at the venue, or drop off and collect at the end of the session.

When will I receive a response?

All applicants will receive a response within two weeks of their audition. Successful applicants will either be offered an immediate placement, or a spot on our waiting list (subject to availability of spaces in appropriate class). For successful applicants, the first week at Spirit will be a trial week before making the full commitment to the team.

What are the audition fees?

The audition fee is £15 for a 3 hour Musical Theatre audition, or £5 for anyone only auditioning for Singing Teams/Choir. These fees cover taking classes with our industry professional faculty and being reviewed by our expert panel.
